Kenya Vision 2030 is a development programme implemented between 2008 and 2030. Its objective is to transform Kenya into a ‘newly industrializing, middle-income country providing a high quality of life to all its citizens by 2030 in a clean and secure environment’ (Kenya Vision 2030, 2021).

Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands (TU Delft) started an Open Educational Resource (OER) that includes courses on clean water technology for developing countries. These resources have been updated by universities in South Africa, Singapore, the Antilles and Indonesia to include information on water-treatment processes from their regions, making a collaborative resource on drinking-water engineering available online to anyone who wishes to learn more.

Voices Beyond Walls is a digital storytelling project that enables marginalized youths to produce video clips expressing their cultural identity and personal narratives. The project is implemented in Palestinian refugee camps.

In 2012, Immigration New Zealand, under the direction of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, developed the New Zealand Refugee Resettlement Strategy in order to establish better policies for accepting and orienting refugees, facilitate English language learning and provide access to healthcare and special services (Benseman, 2014).
